Are you thinking of going Greek?
The Epsilon Omega Chapter of The Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity has been a strong part of Illinois State Greek life since December, 18th 1971. As other fraternities have failed and disappeared from campus, Delta Sigma Phi has grown stronger and stronger with each pledge class for the last 35 years. We take pride in being able to say that we are actively involved in everything from community service and philanthropies, to intramural sports and social events. Our hard work and determination has led us to become a leader in the Greek community at Illinois State.
Rush
In order to join a fraternity, you must take part in recruitment or, as it is often referred to, Rush. The IFC (Inter-Fraternity Council) schedules a week where all the fraternities invite men from the university to various Rush events. It is up to the individual to decide which fraternities to visit, and for how long, while staying within the allotted time reserved for each night. Our popular event nights have included everything from Car Bash to Game Night.
Whether or not you have decided to join a fraternity, we hope you will come out to the many events we have planned for Rush week, and whether it be with us or another fraternity on campus, we encourage you to "Go Greek."
Bid Day
The final step in the recruitment process is the distribution of bids. A bid is an invitation issued by a fraternity to pledge and upon satisfactory completion of the process, join them. Members of the fraternity meet and decide which individuals will receive bids to pledge.
There are several categories in which we base our decisions and because Rush is so short, we encourage you to take advantage and attend every event we schedule. This makes it easier for us to get to know you and will in turn help with our decisions. Please take time to read all the information available on our website and do not hesitate to contact our Rush chairmen anytime.
